Notes:
Ezequiel Ponto Fino is Lampião's brother. Maria Bonita's real name is "Déa, Maria."
Without drawing a definitive conclusion, the ABL/FEC reports that the film was shown for "Cordeiro Neto, Captain" and local authorities on July 2, 1938.
The EJ/CANGACEIROS source reports that filming took place between June and October 1936, while the ABL/FEC specifies the months of May and October.
ABL/FEC reports: there was a "private screening at the Cine Moderno [Fortaleza], for the police chief, Captain Cordeiro Neto, and other authorities, of which a photographic record remained (...). The date of this screening is dubious, but we have a reference to July 2, 1938." JHD/BA believes this screening took place in 1937 and notes that "Benjamin, Abrão" filmed Lampião's gang in two long stays, which must have lasted until 1937. ABL/FEC provides a comprehensive account of these incursions.
ABL/FEC transcribes the news item from Correio do Ceará, dated April 7, 1937, in which "Fontes, Lourival," director of the "National Propaganda Department," requests the seizure of the film. It also reports that "Gonzaga, Adhemar" "allegedly kept a copy clandestinely in his possession, which was sold in the 1950s (...) to São Paulo distributors."
FCB/FF notes that the film was acquired in 1940 by Alexandre Wulfes and re-released with the film "COMENDO DE COLHER."
The JHD/BA source reports that Alexandre Wulfes and Al Ghiu managed to recover the material, "(...) using, however, less than half of the original, making a fifteen-minute documentary."
